Muddy recently retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 31+ years where he split his career flying and training in helicopters and practicing Instructional Design, Advanced Distributed Learning, and Performance Improvement. He is an Executive Leader with over 24 years of experience in Aviation Operations and Safety, Program Management, Instructional Systems Design (ISD), and Human Performance Improvement (HPI). His skills are a unique blend of financial, informational technology, training, and aviation experience combined with wide-ranging leadership skills, strategic vision, and innovativeness. He prides himself on being a tremendous role model and mentor, truly dedicated to developing those around him. He enjoys every moment with his team and values strong esprit de corps and team loyalty. He has been recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard as a distinguished leader, aviator, innovator, & mentor.
Most recently, he provided executive leadership at the U.S. Coast Guard’s leader development, training, and performance improvement organizations, including Dean of Cadet Training at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and as Commanding Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Leadership Development Center. Muddy holds an M.Ed. in Instructional Systems from the Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle, and B.S. in Management from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1994.
